The Customer Reference Team engages SAP customers to share their experiences and inspire others. As SAP shifts to the cloud, the team adapts its approach to scale customer references across the entire lifecycle.

What your future business day could look like

The Regional Reference Lead owns the EMEA reference strategy and serves as the
primary point of contact for regional stakeholders. They develop targeted customer content, support reference recruitment based on regional priorities, and ensure impactful customer engagement at key events.

  • Guide and support customer reference recruitment efforts in coordination with internal teams, based on strategic regional priorities and requirements.
  • Develop compelling customer content aligned with growth priorities.
  • Amplify and activate customer content across SAP’s global and regional channels – including IDPs (Integrated Demand Programs), SAP.com, social media, events, executive communications, and external PR.
  • Recruit customer speakers for key SAP events, analyst engagements, and media opportunities.
  • Maintain and evolve the regional reference plan, including visibility into current coverage by segment, industry, and solution sub-area.
  • Collaborate with the global HCM solution lead to stay aligned on global priorities from SAP SuccessFactors stakeholders (i.e., product marketing, communications, and analyst relations).
  • Track and share reference metrics, coverage, and activities with regional stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
Your Profile
  • Proven experience in B2B communications, customer marketing, or storytelling – ideally within the tech or SaaS industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to shape clear, compelling narratives tailored to business audiences.
  • Experience working with customers and stakeholders to uncover insights and create impactful reference content or speaker moments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – comfortable navigating across marketing, sales, communications, and executive teams.
  • Experience supporting analyst and/or media engagements and recruiting customer speakers for high-visibility opportunities is a strong plus.
  • Ability to analyze gaps and align reference strategies to business needs.
  • Proven success operating in a global, virtual, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C1)
